Platform Engineer (Backend)
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to build and scale the distributed systems that power the Cyberix security platform. You will focus on event processing, data pipelines, and API infrastructure that serve thousands of enterprise customers across six global regions.
Our platform ingests over 2 billion security events per day and must deliver sub-second query latency while maintaining five-nines availability. You will work on the core infrastructure that makes this possible: distributed message queues, time-series databases, query engines, and the API gateway that ties it all together.
This is a role for someone who loves solving hard distributed systems problems and cares deeply about reliability. You will have direct influence on architecture decisions and work alongside some of the best systems engineers in the security industry.
Responsibilities
- ▸ Design and build scalable microservices for event ingestion, processing, and storage
- ▸ Optimize data pipeline throughput and latency across global distributed infrastructure
- ▸ Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs serving enterprise customer workloads
- ▸ Implement observability tooling including metrics, tracing, and structured logging
- ▸ Participate in architecture reviews and drive technical decisions for platform evolution
- ▸ Contribute to incident response and post-mortem processes for platform reliability
Requirements
- ▸ 4+ years of backend engineering experience with distributed systems
- ▸ Strong proficiency in Go, Rust, or Java for high-performance services
- ▸ Experience with message queues (Kafka, Pulsar) and stream processing
- ▸ Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code
- ▸ Understanding of database internals and query optimization (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or similar)
- ▸ Track record of building systems that operate at scale with high availability
Nice to Have
- ▸ Experience with security-specific data pipelines or SIEM platforms
- ▸ Background in time-series databases or columnar storage engines
- ▸ Contributions to open-source distributed systems projects
- ▸ Knowledge of compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001) for platform engineering
